Our new UART version of the TCD1304 line scan camera has been especially designed for anyone who does not want to or cannot work with USB. Whether Arduino, ESP32, STM32 or other microcontroller platforms – with the e9u-LSMD-TCD1304-UART, a variety of line scan camera applications can also be implemented directly in embedded systems.
Of course, the data rate here is limited compared to our USB cameras due to the interface used – but for many applications such as spectrometers, scanners or positioning systems, this is usually more than sufficient. On the other hand, you save on complexity and money: the planned price for a single unit will later be only around 49 €.
With 3648 pixels, our UART line scan camera board achieves a maximum frame rate of up to 25 frames per second at 8-bit digitization depth. For applications with higher signal resolution requirements, operation with 12 bits is also possible—using a baud rate of 2 MBit/s. In contrast to many competitor solutions, our board allows both software triggering and the connection of an external hardware trigger, which offers maximum flexibility for integration into existing systems. A sophisticated handshaking process also ensures stable and loss-free data transmission. The optimized control of the CCD sensor ensures a low-noise, high-quality output signal—a result of Eureca's many years of expertise in the field of industrial line scan camera technology.
