CLOUDS stands for »Calcium Carbonate Light Observation Under Stratospheric Dynamics and Scattering«. The team is investigating how CaCO₃ particles alter the incident solar spectrum under stratospheric conditions.

Eureca is supporting the project with a dual microspectrometer as well as technical advice on fiber coupling, calibration, and integration. On our project page, we’ll be providing regular updates leading up to the planned BEXUS-38 launch campaign.

Andon manufactures precision sockets and terminals for a wide variety of electronic components. In addition to standard variants, special types are also available for use with e.g. image sensors, optoelectronic sensors, gas sensors, DC-DC converters, fuses, crystal oscillators, batteries, power converters, relays and other sensitive devices.

Andon produces a wide variety of different sockets and has over 40 years of experience in this field. Basis of most sockets is an insulating carrier, in which the required number of high-precision turned contacts (terminals) are arranged. Other types of sockets with springs for contacting PLCC components or butterfly laser diodes complete the program.

With flexible production capabilities, Andon is able to cost-effectively produce smaller quantities as well as larger quantities for OEM projects.

Leading manufacturers of such devices are actively encouraging their customers to solder the Andon sockets – and not the components themselves – to the PCB, as the use of sockets for electronic components offers a number of advantages:

  • Damage to components caused by high temperatures during the soldering process, ESD damage or cleaning solutions is avoided;
  • no laborious hand soldering in the production of electronic assemblies;
  • Delay in PCB assembly until the arrival of important components omitted;
  • no time-consuming work on the replacement of damaged components in case of service.

Andon's unique SENSTAC™ socket contact has been designed for applications in for example aviation and aerospace industry with the usual high shock and vibration loads and the necessary lifespans of up to 25 years. There are also numerous other innovative and patented socket designs. Standard and custom sockets are available for a variety of package outlines.
