Portable Thermal Imaging Cameras

The portable thermal imaging camera FLIR E54-EST is presented as a current example from the product range. This non-contact screening device is used for the initial defense against possible health risks. This works via the detection and visualization of heat for the quick detection of people with elevated skin temperature. A resolution of 320 x 240 thermal image pixels on a bright touchscreen display enables precise, easy-to-interpret temperature measurement with the E54-EST.

With its integrated FLIR Screen EST mode, this camera offers visual positioning markings, automatic sampling to update the temperature average and a graphical pass/fail display of the results to relieve the operator of screening stations. The E54-EST is the ideal solution for permanent installations thanks to its compatibility with the FLIR Screen-EST desktop software, an integrated tripod mount and the external power supply.

Long Wave Infrared (LWIR) Thermal Imaging Camera Cores

Current examples from this product range are the long wave infrared (LWIR) thermal imaging camera cores from Boson® and the FLIR Lepton®.

The long wave infrared (LWIR) thermal imaging camera cores from Boson® set new standards in terms of size, weight, power supply and performance. The uncooled vanadium oxide detector (VOx) with 12 µm graduation is available in two resolutions (640 x 512 or 320 x 256) and with many different lenses. This is how you too can find the perfect configuration for your next project. The uncomplicated integration is ensured by a highly developed image processing, video analysis as well as peripheral sensor drivers and communication interfaces from Boson.

The FLIR Lepton® is a radiometric LWIR camera solution. With dimensions smaller than a 10-cent piece, it fits in a smartphone. The costs are only around a tenth of those of conventional IR cameras. The use of focal plane arrays with either 160 x 120 or 80 x 60 active pixels enables the Lepton to be easily integrated into native mobile devices and other electronics such as IR sensors or thermal imaging cameras. With the radiometric lepton, on the other hand, accurate, calibrated and non-contact temperature data is recorded in every pixel of each image.
