- The C106 linear image sensor consists of 64 photo detectors, associated multiplexing switches, shift registers, chip selector logic, odd-even circuitry and analog video switch. Each photo detector is reset more than one clock cycle to reduce the image lag. The video signal of odd photo detector and even photo detector are combined into one video output signal. The chip selector logic is used to activate the output to the individual chips, making them suitable for silicon butting to form a full width linear Contact Image Censor (CIS) array.
The area of the pixel element is approximately 5400µm2 with 125µm center to center spacing. The length of the C106 is about 8mm long. The photo detectors operate in a serial dump and a serial readout fashion with a series of active shift registers. The device is easily operated with a start pulse, a clock pulse and a single 5V power supply.
- The C208 linear image sensor consists of buffer circuitry, timing generator and active element array. The timing generator provides all the timing circuitry. The active element array consists of 192 active pixel sensors (APS), correlated doubled sampling (CDS) circuitry, buffer circuitry and an active element selector (AES). The CDS circuitry is made by S/H1 and S/H2 for reset noise cancellation. The center to center spacing between adjacent pixels is 42,15µm. The length is 8mm. The Photodiodes are parallel dump and serial readout devices controlled by a series of active shift registers. In addition to the 5V power supply, only 2 clock signals (input pulse and clock pulse) are required for easy operation of this device.
- The C212 linear image sensor is designed for high speed, color digital copier application. The sensor was formed by a series of 522 photo diodes with 21,15µm pixel to pixel spacing. Three (red, green and blue) color filters alternately deposited on the photo diodes form a color sensor with 400 dpi resolution. Three video outputs readout each color of the video signal simultaneously. The scan speed is improved since each video output only reads about 174 pixels of the video signal. A dual correlated double sample (CDS) circuitry is used to cancel reset noise and reduce fixed pattern noise. This chip also has built in, on chip power down circuitry to reduce power consumption. The photo diodes are parallel dump and serial readout devices. The device is easily operated with a start pulse, a clock pulse and a 5V and V-ref power supply. A monochrome version of the C212 linear image sensor is available for high speed document input device applications. The monochrome version can also be used for 1200 dpi, color scanners using a color LED (R,G,B) light switching method.
A monochrome version of the C212 linear sensor is available for high speed scanners. The monochrome version can also be used for 1200 dpi, if the scanned provides a multicolour LES lighting source.

CMOS Sensor's Contact Image Sensor (CIS) modules are compact and light in weight as well as power efficient. They have a wide range of applications: fax machines, document scanners, bar code/mark readers, hand-held scanners, electronic white boards, MFP.

The module M106-A4-R5-X is supplied with out the usual linear lens optic and LEDs, which are normally used in CIS modules. Due to this fact it can be used as a standard CMOS sensor. The main advantage is the unusual long sensor length of 216mm! The M106-A4-R5-X can be supplied in small volumes from stock. On request also the other CIS modules can be supplied without the linear lens optic and the LEDs. This is however only possible at a certain minimum order volume.
