CIS modules and CMOS Sensors by CMOS Sensors Inc.

Eureca is the german sales bureau of CMOS Sensor Inc. / USA. This manufacturer provides CMOS sensors, which are used to build up e.g. CIS modules for the consumer market and industrial line scan camera systems. But also in other applications as e.g. in space missions the products of this manufacturer are used.


Contact Image Sensors (CIS) Modules

CIS modules consist of a CMOS sensor line, a linear lens and a LED illumination in a compact housing. CIS modules are used in many fax machines and scanners. Available are modules in the standard lengths A8, A6, A4 and A3 in resolutions of 200 to 600 dpi.

All CIS modules mentioned here are optimized for scanning documents in the socalled "contact mode". Here the object to be scanned is moved across the CIS module in direct contact to its front glass plate.

For applications where a longer working distance is needed, the modules can be disassembled. Then the internal components can be put e.g. into a customized housing with the needed new distances. With such modifications CIS modules can also be used to inspect endless goods in the industrial area (foils, textiles, papers and many more). When using CIS modules in such a way you have however to take care, that the working distance is hold very precisely in order to get the best optical resolution.

On request the CIS modules can be supplied also without the linear lens optic and the LEDs. So they can be used as a long CMOS linear sensor for e.g. position detection of laser beams.

In general the CIS modules by CMOS SENSOR INC. can be supplied as customized versions at a certain minimum order volume. Possible are e.g. modifications of the housing, additional parallel outputs to increase the readout speed of the module, or using special LEDs for the lighting. Further the CMOS sensors which are used to build the CIS modules can be supplied as wafers for OEM projects. Please contact us, if you should have interest in this option.


200 DPI

The 200 dpi sensors come in a wide variety of designs and sizes from 304 mm to as small as 12 mm scanning length. The M106 series of modules is based on the 8 dots per millimeter C106 silicon. The modules have from 1 to 3 video outputs and can be configured to meet your specific design needs.

200 - 400 DPI

The 200-400 dpi sensors come in a wide variety of designs and sizes from 304 mm to as small as 12 mm scanning length. The M218 series of modules is based on our dual resolution 200/400 dpi C118 silicon. Available in aluminum or plastic, 1 to 4 video outputs, the devices can be configured to meet your specific requirements

300 - 600 DPI

The 300-600 dpi modules are available in sizes from 216mm to 24mm. The M116 series of modules is based on the dual resolution 300/600 dpi C116 silicon. Available in aluminum or plastic, 1 or 3 video outputs, the devices can be configured to meet your specific requirements

600 DPI

The M206 600 dpi sensors are based on high speed double data rate C206 silicon. Available only in aluminum, these devices are designed to meet demanding commercial requirements. Dual LED illumination provides excellent signal needs for high speed applications.

I-CIS (Industry Camera Image Scanner)

The i-cis family of linear CMOS imagers are designed for large format line scan imaging applications where a continuous, undistorted image is required. Available in 260mm increments, the i-cis family of products provides unequalled imaging capability.
